Bit more random info.

We will have DJ + MC and we will be having it in the same location as last time.

Unless someone else steps up odds are I will be EO and won't be competing. We will be using the RFL rules set. Flamethrowers are allowed but you should contact the EO prior to event.

Well if we are going to have a few I might see if we can scrounge up some more cash for prizes.

One week to go.
A reminder for people to sign up on the builders database. I need to organise the rounds before turning up and i dont want 1000 waiting while I try to make room for a robot I didnt know was coming.

If everyone could get to The Edge by 9:00 or 9:30 at the absolute latest that would also be great. I need everyone to fill out a sheet on their robot and get its pictures taken. (Edit: We will now be using the database online so if everyone can fill in as much detail as possible that would be good.)

Also any volunteers who are available Friday I will be at the Edge from around midday setting things up. PM me for my phone number if you can help out.

Cheers

Steve

I have just finished doing up 10 of the antweight kits so they will be available from the edge desk if anyone is excited and wants to go build there own.

If anyone can't make it. It will be webcast live to anyone with the internet.

There will be live DJ all day and German Sausage will be available in the competition area for lunch. (I think its about $5 for a sausage in a roll) They edge also has coffee and drinks upstairs. Competitors are entitled to 2 free coffees per day.

After Epic thread cleansing I have few more things which people should know about.

Kit Bots
Kitbots maze

This will be a time trial for any of the Workshop robots or any robots fulfilling the http://qrsc.org.au/wikka.php?wakka=KitBots rules.

There will also be soccer and survival. These will be run in the lunchtime slot and have a small prize associated with the winner. Plan is currently to do the Maze race on the first day and the survival and and a soccer match on the second day. Soccer will be first goal scored and survival will be all the robots put in with the pit open and last robot left wins.

All who wish to compete should be at the Antweight arena at 12:00 ready to start at the start of lunch break on both days.

Rounds
For the combat rounds the aim is to Start every round at the allocated time. Robots should all be ready to go. If you aren't ready we will try and put other robots of the same class before you but if this isn't possible then you will automatically forfeit. (I want to keep everything running) The draw for the next round should be put up immediately after the previous round ends.

Seeding
The current plan is to use the buildersDB to generate the draw. This may make seeding NSW and QLD bots difficult. So no descisions have been made on this at the moment.

Registration
Because of this every combat robot !!!MUST!!! be registered in the builders database. If you have not done so you will have to do it in the morning on the day. If you are not there or haven't registered before we want to start the first round it will be very difficult for us to add in your robot. In this case we will probably be able to incorporate you but you will be disqualified from receiving any prize money. Any prize money which you are entitled to will be donated back to QRSC.

All prize money will be paid in the form of cheque or direct deposit.

Pit etiquette
Any unsafe behavior will result in immediate disqualification. Any powering of weapons regardless of robot size will be considered unsafe behavior. (Some common sense applies here) Space will also be pretty tight, I have doubled the size since lasttime but if anyone wants to throw an additional table in there car if there is space to set it up it might be helpful

The power setup at the edge was great last time plenty of power boards all around, but bring everything you think you will need. The pit area will be locked overnight and all gear should be safe to leave at the venue. I would not recommend leaving valuables in the pit area. A hot works area will be available.

I am also trying to get screens to display the webcast in the pit area. Also if anyone is a massive cricket fan I may be able to organise a digital tuner for the cricket.

Also test and tag will be required on all your devices. There is no need to get these done before hand I have organised an electrician who will be coming round at 11 on the Saturday to test and tag everything. This will be paid for by the QRSC.

Thats all I can think of for now. Sorry for the harshness of some of the rules but way it has to be. [/b]
