Do you need a speed controller for those Pololu motors Aaron? Thanks.

Yes, you will need a speed controller for the gear motors.
Off the shelf controllers:
Sabertooth 2X5 Dual Motor Driver
Scorpion Mini v2.4
Pololu TReX Jr Dual Motor Controller - Thanks Jaemus!
If your code savvy:
B-328 Robot Controller

If your prepare to fiddle, you might get away with using the servo boards out of a standard sized servo. You will need to replace the pot with resistors.

Looks like that one would control both motors and have a third channel for firing a solenoid, i think...

Full pressure CO2 in an ant. You know you want to.

The Sabretooth 2 x 5A is 19g.

Aaron said 250 psi max. So I guess I could pump up a chamber to 250 psi with a high pressure pump(i have that). Maybe using a schrader valve.

Build a FP system and pressure test it. IMO, if it passes the same tests as other weight classes it is fine by me.

OK next lazy question by me....

Is the standard spectrum receiver the lightest/smallest solution for ants(three channels needed)? Thanks.

An idea from Matt (Jack the Flipper) from the RC racing club he goes to. The 2.4GHz radios have and antenna that is about 25mm (can someone check this as I am too lazy to do the 5 seconds of math needed) on the end of a bit of 100mm coax. Since they don't need excessive range the car guys cut the coax down to 30mm, strip the shield off the last 25mm to make an antenna (same length as original) and mount it inside the receiver case. Other option is to tape the new antenna to the side of the case.
Only thing I see with this is that 2.4GHz have 2 antennas that should be kept at least 1/4 wavelength apart (one antenna length).

Yep done this on two of my RXs works fine. HK receivers only have 1 antenna.

Got bit bored so whipped up some quick arduino code to run B328 as RC motor controller.

code:

#include <OrangutanMotors.h>

#define CH1 7
#define CH2 4

#define rcMin 1200
#define rcMax 1900
#define DEBUG 0

OrangutanMotors motors;
unsigned long input2;
unsigned long input1;

void setup()
{
  if(DEBUG)
  {
    Serial.begin(38400);
    Serial.println("Start");
  }
  pinMode(CH1,INPUT);
  pinMode(CH2,INPUT);
}

void loop()
{
  input2 = pulseIn(CH2, HIGH) ;
  input1 = pulseIn(CH1, HIGH) ;

  if (input2 != 0 && input1 != 0)
  {
    if(DEBUG)
    {
      Serial.println("Input");
      Serial.println(input1);
      Serial.println(input2);
    }

    int M1 = (input1 - rcMin) -  (rcMax - rcMin)/2;
    int M2 = (input2 - rcMin) -  (rcMax - rcMin)/2;

    motors.setSpeeds(M1,M2);
  }
}

I do believe expo mixing is the next job.
