So, under existing rules, as soon as Styrobot lost a wheel a referee would have called on Styrobot to show lateral movement and declared Spinderella the winner by knockout and if Andrew stopped attacking and called on Styrobot to show lateral movement Spinderella would have been declared the winner by knockout.

Is that correct?

As I interpreted it the ref doesn't ask for styrobot to show that it can move until Spinderella stops attacking for > 5sec. So if spinderella has stopped attacking the ref then would have asked styrobot if he could move. Then started the countdown. If styrobot is unable to demonstrate controlled movement in those 10sec then spinderella is winner by knockout

What happens in the ant arena if you are stuck on one of the corner aluminium pieces? I know that I normally lift my opponent off during a match and keep playing. Is it designed to be a robot trap or should it be an unstick and keep going? It would be good to have consistency during the Nationals.

Well I think maybe the Robogames 1 unstick regardless might be best.

This could be employed by the driver at any point in the fight and would allow the robot to be removed from its entanglement with the arena. This would cover the corners, floor and walls. IMO the corners aren't really intended for stacking, they were added to keep the robots out of the sharp corners. So you would be able to remove yourself from this once but if you get restacked there then you would be counted as immobilised.

My thoughts

I think if you get stacked by your opponent, no unstick. If you put yourself there, you are entitled to one unstick. Just my 2c.

True but you try differentiating between those two.
