If you are looking for a low cost ESC one option which I have been thinking about would be a reprogrammed brushless ESC. You may notice that some of the high end ESC also offer brushed operation. I was wondering whether with some reprogramming we could just use two channels of a normal one for a low cost ESC. _________________ Steven Martin

really that sounds interesting, I know you can also make one out of the guts of a servo but I have only got it to work in one direction.

Be good if we could use the guts of a drill trigger to! I think steve is on the right track here with esc hack.

We used to do that, back in the good old days. They worked really well but were somewhat large and delicate. Anyone got a photo of the setup in el bravo? _________________ ( •_•)

Ok a real NOOB question here.
We got those zippy 750 batteries in both of our HK transmitters. Its lasted a couple of weeks without a charge(impressive compared to aa). So now its time to charge it using our Accucell 6 charger.
Do I plug the 4 in jst of the battery into the charger to charge it. ? and if so do I charge it in balance mode on the charger or normal life mode? The life mode doesnt give me its voltage of 11v it only says 9volts for a 3cell.
Sorry but we've never played with these settings on the charger and the batteries never came with any info.

First thing you need to do is switch it from life mode to lipo mode. Think you do that in the custom user settings section there willbe an option which has life 3.3v which you need to change to 3.7v. Then you needto plug in both balance lead and power plug to charger select the number of cells and charge. I would recommend balance mode. @ 0.5c _________________ Steven Martin

Hi Steve
Yeah ,did that balance mode only took a few seconds though (does that sound right). I then went onto charge ...its still charging now.
Thanks

So whats the best thing to do when you have run your lipo battery right down and the accucell6 says battery check....low voltage(making a beeping noise) then nothing ?
Is there a way of trickle charge it just a enogh to get it to read? It defiantly is because the battery is to drained. cause it doesn't do it on our other lipo that isn't rundown.
It says in the manual that this error message happens if I have the wrong amount of cells set. But it is right.

Ok Got it to work. I set it to a lower cell count of 2cell rather than 3. That charged for about one minute. Then said it was done. So then I set it to proper cell count of 3 cells 11.1 volts and it charged it. so it just needed a bit of extra power to get it to read properly.
Also discovered that our seagate 3.5" external hardrive power supply fits perfectly in the accucell charger unput socket (3amp) woohoo!

Hi Guys
Ok got some balance leads on one of our 13v a123 packs (im charging it at one amp)..but it times out before getting to full. Do I need higher amps(last time I was doing 3amps unballenced and 2 cells died)?
