HD Arena Cam

The full HD micro video camera arrived and I am well impressed:

Its about the same mass as a PC mouse and very well made. It needs quite a bit of light for good quality video, but our arena should have more than enough - if it doesn't, I have extra light fittings to install Twisted Evil

haha nice work nick, looks like its waterproof?

BTW: definately bring the extra lights - my videos are always crying out for them and thats with a relatively fat 55mm dia. lens shooting wide open Razz

I got the version without special mounting kits and a few basic extras, cost about $280 USD.

It has outputs for external monitors, but no mic socket - not surprising as it wouldn't be waterproof. The mic seems to be pretty good, but not very sensitive when its in the waterproof case so I don't think we will be getting buch crowd noise. There is a non-waterproof back for the case that makes the sound better, havn't figured out how to change it yet.

If the arena footage looks really good, I will think about getting s second one and doing away with hand-held cameras - just having the footage on an SD card is a huge advantage over tape; editing is cut in half. Very Happy

ok boys and girls, with the event coming up quick we should get a tally of whos coming and with what.

Just finished the last of the frame for new the game today to be delivered to the welder tomorrow and minus mounting wedge, make and mount lid and on/off switch and make a second battery it should be good to go.

Whos turning up with what, seems like the usual's with nick, glen, angus and jaemus etc

Any word on planners, Chris and Bort? They have all been quiet as lately.

Got a work friend coming to this one as he wants to see em in person so he can get his head around everything so he can build one himself so....... hopefully get a new competitor soon.

yeah and Chris also, someone hunt him down and find out if he is coming.

Would also like to clarify if its Saturday or Sunday so i can inform the gentleman from work.

So far i have told him it is Saturday so hopefully a day later wont screw his plans up at all.

But anyways, need to know

Everyone either said that Sunday was OK or that they preferred it, so Sunday it is (this time)! Thinking about it, that's a full extra day of build time, YAY Very Happy
