Copied from the hobbyshity forum

quote:

It's starting to look permanent for Hong Kong Post.
That means alot of small eBayers and other stores that dont have the capacity to ship out via private courier will be attempting time and time again to post their lipo's only to have them returned a week or two later.
You're going to see alot of HK/CN vendors stop selling Lipo's in the coming weeks/Months as they work out that it's not getting through.

We are now doing the following;
1) We have charged two private courier companies with the task of shipping our products out. Bypassing Hong Kong Post.\

2) We have already sent 2 containers of Lipoly to Germany and next week 1 container to Seattle (the location of our new warehouse to be).

3) Customers who buy Lipo from as now will have them shipped via the Private couriers.

4) In future you will have a greater selection of Lipo from USA (Seattle) or DE (Hamburg) warehouses.

5) We are changing tracking system pages this week and next to better reflect the new services.

In the end you're going to get your batteries at the same price, but with faster shipping and less customs issues.

So that's why my batteries were sent via swiss post ... ... in singapore... XD

NO, there was a stupid World Trade Agreement that pretty much banned Lipos from being shipped - just try sending one via Aus Post! Once the HK sellers get their packs certified to the WTO standards, thing may improve. Unfortunately the standard amounts to firing your battery into space at 100 G, while shorted out and heated to near melting point Laughing If the pack survives that, its apparently safe for your local postie to handle.

i dunno dude - ive killed two XXL's in a row - but that was with 24v and apparently despite being rated for 28v they really dont like 24v - you may recall the discussion at the time Smile

Im only planning to put 4S into this bot Smile - if you're genuinely cool with it i'd be happy to take you up on that - up to you Smile

4S is nothing, it'll cutout before it overloads. Just don't plug it in backward. Laughing I'll need to find its case again... Confused

Just read the latest Hobby King newsletter and saw that they have hired a manager for their new NSW warehouse. Maybe shipping will be more predictable soon.

That would be most awesome and a great boost for local builders! If & when they eventually open, we should definitely approach them about sponsorship or at least get them acquainted with the needs of robot builders.
