Marayong Season 7, Round 1 - March 20th

Well with less than 3 weeks to go until the first round of the season, I thought we should put up a proper topic for it instead of putting it all in the Season 7 topic.

So this event will be games for normal feathers and beetleweights. I believe the games were going to be soccer/hockey teams (The teams were going to be drawn randomly which I think is a good idea), hungry hungry robots, and sumo I think?

Don't suppose we could get confirmation from the minutes?

Also yearly membership is up for renewal, so you've got until round 2 to pay your fees. For those who like to pay ahead of time, you can also pay for each event entrance fee up front.

Finally I believe we decided to return to 10am starting time. As in 10am kickoff, no undercard, no reserve grade, no support band, 10:00:00 EST/DST there will be some robots in the arena or you skip the first round. The overall aim being to increase the number of fights in a day, especially the number of rounds before lunch.

Anyway should be good.

Season Points

Rd1:
Nick =6
Angus =4
Glen =3
Jaemus =3
Bort =1
Jake/Russell =1

The other thing that was decided at the meeting was that bots have to be in the marshalling area to be in the draw before each heat.

It went through all the spare drives I own, and now has one working, and one with a broken clutch, all in a quality 4WD frame. Laughing

re: location

Hi,

As a new member to the forum, could someone point me to where the addresses for each venue in each state is listed?

I live in NSW and would like to watch the March 20 event.

Regards
Michael

heyyy welcom its on tallgandra drive in marayong/quakers hill. ill PM you the exact adress

the 20th event is just for the 1.36kg beetleweight class and some other games for the bigger ones so there wont be any full on combat of the bigger robots. that is sometime in june.

but its our first beetleweight event so we are all pretty green at making them. what better time for someone to get stuck into building one Very Happy Razz

in regards to the query about how many bots;

I'm working on a beetle which due to RMP's slow processing and even slower shipping is likely going to be a frantic last second build, if the parts arrive at all.

Thus, I'm also looking at doing a Bort / Glen style armoured-up toy since I have nothing much better to do in the meantime and would very much like to ensure i have a working beetle.

Thus, expect one, possibly two, from me.

+1 Welcome Michael!

re: me

Hmm,

I own and operate www.roboteshop.com.au which started off with humanoid robots, but I'm branching out to other types (kits, hexapods, etc)

Interest kicked off with Star Wars, tried to build my first using a Commodore 64 (failed), read a lot about electronics but never seemed to have the skill or funds to progress.

Then after a trip to Japan a couple of years ago, decided to buy a Kondo KHR-2HV humanoid robot and become interested in RoboOne wrestling.

A recent TV series on Foxtel about combat robots got me searching what was going on in Australia and that's how I found this site.

Regards
Michael Gruber
