Are those Uni guys lined up? I am picking up at least one old Dell desktop tomorrow for target practise.

Not sure if Scissorhands will be going or not; some electrical stuff still needs fixing. I have some PC junk to destroy and will do a demo of the flame thrower, see you all around midday.

The meeting with the Uni Organisers went really well today - its very likely we will be doing something with the Uni group during the year. They are not likely to have any bots running in time for the start of the season, but mid-year for Battleshed and later rounds is promising. We also agreed to go to an evening meeting at the uni to help out with questions and get students motivated. Andrew finished up the day by demolishing my old printer base in spectacular fashion.
Speaking about our season kick-off, we decided that as a fair number of builders were going to Ideas Festival, that we should have one (possibly two) focussed build days, with a smaller group of builders and a set list of parts to make; IE you bring the materials and somebody welds / mills / turns a part. The first event would be in April to avoid a clash with the Ideas Festival.
The likely venues are my place for general milling and small turning jobs, Russel for welding, turning or Chris's workshop (not sure what is available there). I can donate a tank of argon for aluminium welding.

if possible seeing as we don't have as many events this year could a few of them be held during long weekends and school holidays.
Cause im pretty sure ill be busy every other weekend due to school, work and sports.
any date around these dates:
10 April to 27 April
11 July to 26 July
3 October to 18 October
19 December to 26 January 2010
and whenever the long weekends are like queens holiday and such _________________ Barton Robotics Youtube Channel:

So 6 events in a year means an average of one every two months. Now since we are already one month down it unfortunately means we need to have an event soon to keep up that kind of spacing.
Which is kind of a bummer since I'm not really ready for the season start, as I wanted a new design done. But we should have an event in Feb if there a few people going to Briz, to allow enough time between events. Especially if Nick needs to buy a new weapon bar or something (it's been too long since I joked about that).
And we need to decide if we run the lightweights on the same day as the feathers, or at their own separate event. _________________ Farnsworth - "I hate these nerds. Just because I'm stupider than them they think they're smarter than me."

The current plan was to have a build day towards the end of feb, then ideas in march, then our first "event" in april.
leaving battleshed towards the end of the year
It also might give some of the uni teams a chance to get something togther and compete in the main comp. _________________ Mechanical engineers build weapons, civil engineers build targets
