if you want them for wheels use them ... you might find you will have a traction problem though ..and thay wil have to have sharps covers on them in the pits ..

well when it was still on TV from what i saw it was made of simple wood. thick stuff though. pretty funny at the end of each series of robot wars there were always huge chunks and gouges everywhere from where the likes of pussycat and that have got stuck into it. _________________ Andrew Welch, Team Unconventional Robotics

well, our original arena had a steel floor (being a dodgem car arena as well), but its looking like our next one will probably be wood.. I cant confirm that just yet, since we are still working on some interesting possibilities,
If you want to run saw blades for wheels, I see nothing in the rules that prevents that (did you ever see Ginsu - the American BattleBot ?), but as andrew said, you would require covers for them in the pits. Might make practicing in your driveway or street a bit noisy and hard on the blades too.. _________________ Great minds discuss ideas. Average minds discuss events. Small minds discuss people

It's been tried, and it really didn't work.

Sawpoint was a very good looking robot with two 60cm blades for it's wheels, but lacked weaponry, although it got to the Semi Final Of the Heats in Robot Wars 4 _________________
