Arcade bot prototype driving. Smile Rob and Matt in Melbourne, I will ask Rob to do a little Video when he gets home.

Massive amount of battery, almost 22 KG of AGMSLA.

Thinking I might set the prototype up as a fighting no spinner lightweight to tie in with the fighting comp.

The frame with wheels drives weapon motor but no hammer only weighs 16.8KG.

Think I will take Weasel on sat as a sparing partner.

The first prototype abandoned when the real batteries turned out to be bigger than the original sample might become a ref bot and have a look that ties in with the Arcade bots.

NP Weasel is apart at the moment, finally replaced the sinted sprocket that fell apart on one of the drive motors, that’s why he wasn’t working properly in the rumble.
Get Rob to take some fresh picks and post them.

Thought this might be of interest for the Sidetrack Rent-a-bots. Sparkfun is currently selling a bunch of arcade cabinet style joysticks and buttons.

Joystick 1

Joystick 2

Big Red Button

Arcade Buttons (Various Colors)

Thanks Aaron.

Sidetracked already have a bunch of old arcade parts around we can probably scavenge for the joysticks and buttons..

An analog (Potentiometer instead of microswitches) arcade strength joystick would possibly be useful if you happen to see one in your travels

A possible option is the Logitech Attack 3 Joystick, they are cheap (~$30, generally good quality build), are USB and have plenty of buttons. You could hack the joy stick just for the functionality or use the whole thing with some fancy software.

Sportsman Feathers?

Hi Rotwang, Great stuff! We only heard about this at the Vic Ant's meeting on the weekend. I think there is a few there that would like to do both Ants and Feathers. We'd certainly be in!
