We managed to have 3 rounds today. At the end of the day the top 8 robots are:
Bane 2
King Cobra
Marauder
Stainless Steel Rat
Bender
Sproing
Inspector General
Demon

This may change after 3 or 4 rounds tomorrow.
Hellcat and Badger have already been retired.

The Keros have done a tremendous job organising the event and with the arena. It is great to see the way that the roboteers get in and help each other.

back, thanks to all for IF, was an expensive weekend but all around am generally happy with Orbit, need to fix self righter issue, strength issue where the weeopn shaft is (the 3mm steel bent on some of the crazier hits), get a spare belt, new pulley and throw another brushless in there (when upper section tweaked a lil disc hit pulley and bent shaft, cracking magnet) so when thats reinforced it should be reliable and the brushless performed flawlessly all weekend

Was able to bounce pyro bot off the roof and able to chew through 6mm ali and bend thick steel easily so the weopons been perfected best it can be so just self tighter and reliability and all is well

congrats to Glen, demon was kickass and cobra owned all

im off for a shower and some relax then will fix orbit in next week or two for first round

Congratulations to the Keros on a successful event. Congratulations to Glen on the win. Demon is well made and a crowd pleaser. (I particularly liked the "bitch slap" victory move.)

Speaking of crowd pleasing, it was hard to decide who was the more favoured between Sproing and Pyrobot. They both drew a lot of applause. Special mention should also go to King Cobra who got the best cheer after a spectacular win.

Hardest working, apart from the three Keros, would have to be Nick. Nick seemed to be constantly rebuilding and reshaping (read: pounding bent panels with a sledge hammer). Sissorhands kept coming back for more.

Likewise, Gary had eight million robots and would rebuild a destroyed robot in between rounds and still have time to chat to the crowd over the fence.

Roboteers are still the best people. Everyone was so quick to offer spare parts or advice or general help or the use of a tool. (Thanks, Andrew, for that battery balance.)

Over all, it was an enjoyable way to spend my 42nd birthday.

Shocked Dude, you hardly look 30 something - Happy birthday! I certainly put some muscle into hammering those wheel pods back into shape, it seems that everyone wanted a piece of them Laughing

I have tomorrow off, so I should be able to get some good videos posted

Thanks to everyone for coming along and making it such a great event.
Extra thanks for all those who could stay late and help pack up the venue. Even more thanks to Steve and the Victorian thwack-bot team for helping unload again at our place.
The event went very smoothly except for a slightly overdone display by Pyrobot which forced us to stop half an hour while the smoke cleared. The audience loved it however.
I am definitly thinking that next time we will do only 2 days as most robots were done after 70 odd fights in the first 2 days.
My brother is looking to get some videos up as soon as possible but I am afraid to say that we seem to have lost the video of the first round fights and some of the second round. We have copies of Nicks tapes and will recover what we can.

Nick, I love you.

Another fight that is worthy of mention is 6*7 vs Sissorhands. Newelyn (sp?)showed great skill and control to attack with only certain parts of his robot. He rapidly changed tactics as the match went on. I hope it can be clearly seen on the video.

I can't beleive I forgot to add an extra special thanks to my wife for putting up with my stress over the last couple of months. Not only did she stick by me but she also helped all four days of the event (including the set up on Thursday) and did a great job displaying next fight info on the big screen and listing the current scores.
Thank you.
