Blade Runner & Movie Chatter (was Team name change )

Have ummed and arrrred for a while on this but have decided to change my teamname for numerous reasons.
Having three robots at different stages of production it seems clear that a big influence is Sci-Fi movies so thats where my new name comes from.
Will take on a new name of team NEXUS.
Any die hard Sci-fi nut should know the movie thats from.
Will attempt to back track on previous posts to update this where I can.

Its also the inspiration of one of my fave White Zombie songs called
'More human than human".
Glad someone out there knows the movie. I thought it was a classic.

Replicant is also a good name for a bot.

To answer your question Gary, in the directors cut there is a scene where the reflection from his eyes was similar to a replicants so my answer is yes he was but dont know if it is made to be obvious.

More human then human is a good song. It's just not quite as good as Rob Zombie's Dragula or Demon Speeding.

Have not bought or listened to much music lately but going back many years the type of music i have liked has been sort of hard and heavy and Industrial.

In no particular order Ive listened to

Prodigy, Pantera, Ministry, Nini Inch Nails, Van Halen, Soundgarden, Rage against the Machine, Metallica, Korn, Alice in Chains, Stone temple pilots, Audiosave, MAssive Attack. Led Zepppelin, Nirvana, Public Image, Primus, KMFDM, ACDC, Leftfield, Pearl Jam, Devo, Cyprus Hill.

Know that you all think I am deeply disturbed i also listen to top 40, techno and most things with a strong beat or good melody. Used to play in bands years ago so like bands with really good guitar players to interest me or a good digital bass line to pump through my subs. ROCK & ROLL, ROCK & ROLL Razz

One of my favourite games is starcraft and the down side of your new name is that it tempts me to put it back on the hard drive.
With half a dozen new bots on the drawing bord and bills to pay I can’t really afford that this year. Sad

Prodigy, Nini Inch Nails, Rage against the Machine, Metallica, Korn, Nirvana and ACDC are some of the best bands around! I have a quite a bit of there work on my pc. Also have craploads of techno too, a lot of remixes and the like. Currently on the craze of a techno type song called "Spaceman" by Babylon Zoo.

Gary plays StarCraft Shocked Well I'll be damned..... Good to hear you play some sort of pc game Gary and not Noughts & Cross with the mig welder Wink

That song makes me think of a holiday I had in THailand many years ago.
That was huge there back then, would like to hear the remix if you can send me and mp3 or something, would like to hear what they have done to it,
I remember it had a big Les Paul sound.

Another song that I heard Literally a few times a day was Hotel California, great song, even if you have to hear it all the time,
and there was one more holiday song that stuck in my head and that was Oasis, think its called Wonder wall.

Funny how songs make you think of places you have been.

When that song was written Rob Zombie was in the Band White Zombie so I call it a White Zombie song.

Could have said Rob Zombie but that would not have been correct as the Cd its off is titled White Zombie as there are 2 other musicians on it that get credits.

Enuff Zombie talk already

Oh I dont know.. "Hell Bent" might describe the robots once they've been through a few battles more accurately.. Laughing

Other than that, both sound OK to me..

Since this thread is so OT and bizzare, I want to add that there is a great book by the guys who originally penned the screenplay called Film Noir. Its mandatory reading for all Blade Runner fans and reveals some fascinating detail about the politics behind the camera and Ridley Scott's thinking. I left the book at work, but if anyone is interested I can post the publishing details.

The book makes it clear that Deckard is a 'special order'. There are some deleted scenes where it's shown that a unicorn dream is a programmed thought and Deckard's offsider knows it when he leaves the origame model near the end. There is another deleted scene at the very end where a unicorn gallops beside the car as Deckard and Rachel drive away.

Apparently, Ridley Scott fell asleep in a preview screening and didn't see that the final scene had been changed. He woke up a said he was pleased the unicorn was still in the movie Smile. Another bit of trivia - did anyone know that one of the aerial city scenes features a building that is really a model of the Starwars millenium falcon? They were running late on model building and just jammed in anything they had.

For my money, the very original Philip Dick book was even better. If there are other Philip Dick fans out there, what would you say to making "Through A Scanner, Darkly" into a movie?

Do you want the original radio mix of Spaceman or some extended thang? I definitely have the radio version - great intro
