they dont give shipping costs when you order.

I think you got shafted on the shipping; I bought 8.5 pounds of steel parts from Little Machine Shop (probably double your parts weight) and not only are the parts in OZ after only two days, it only cost $80. LMS was able to calculate the cost before I finished ordering (regular postage was $45) so SPDSI is doing a poor job!

With the US dollar so good for purchases I'm temped to order a new cordless drill for the workshop(Dewalt).
Anyone know if customs would get involved with power tools? As in add some sort of tax.
Also whats the latest on lithium battery's, if I was to order a battery as well.
