Purchased. Smile
For the record, he gave me great advice on which PSU to use for my system, however sadly the recommended on is now out of stock. Laughing Ah well, and upgrade later. Can't wait to get this thing going.... one huge brick wall removed.

For those with expensive tastes/needs

This guy has had some interesting stuff up recently, more of a deal for people in Vic who can pick up items. Woulda posted this earlier but I wanted to purchase a powersupply from him first without having to potentially bid against any of you. Laughing

The gearboxes don't look like regular Maxon items, they look more like the cheap asian designs. the motors that ant builders rave about look more like this:

So you might not be getting the high quality you expect.

I have never seen a cheap Chinese knockoff with a quadrature decoder on it and they look the same as some of the older maxOns I have seen about.

They're for giant scale aircraft, so what can you do that's sensible? Nothing. Laughing They have a disclaimer saying not to use it for any EV conversions.... wusses.

WOW, did anyone here win that Maxon motor auction? They went for really unreasonable prices IMHO. Sad

WOW, That kinda cash is so not worth it for high abuse we would cause IMHO.
If all worked its a semi-decent price for encoder motors.

Bidding exploded in the last 2 minutes, I can only see Marto even remotely looking at spending that kinda cash.

Lol I maxed out a $33. When from winning with 30 sec left to $120.

No way I am paying that much for MISC motors with no real specs. I would like some nice motors with optical encoders for servos though.

Yeah, I put in a token bid on the small motors but really wanted the larger pair for a non-combat role. I am guessing we were all out-bid by some professional eBay trolls
