If I were you I wouldn't post your full email, spambots can read it.
I wish I could go but it's a bit far for me, all the best! Smile

I should be able to make it as well.
Made some time over weekend to do some welding so robot is good enough for a comp but have another thing to overcome atm and that is the IBC is playing up again.
Its just been repaired but still has this odd behaviour. it seems to work fine until I connect another speed controller for the weapon and then it just shits itself and becomes eratic. I use the BEC from the weapon esc and disconnect it from the IBC.

Dont have much time to sort this b4 the weekend so dont know if it will be competing which is a spew since I worked on getting the robot ready and have now hit a familiar wall and dont know what to do about it.

Have tried a few different controllers for the weapon but the ibc doesnt behave with any of them. It only works by itself.
Any suggestions welcome on overcoming this odd behaviour.

Assuming the BEC's are disconnected it sounds like some sort of earth-loop.

If the 2nd ESC's ground point is at a different potential than the IBC's then you will get all sorts of bizarre effects. Make sure they all run to a common earth point.

Another possibility is that the 2nd ESC's BEC is powering the receiver at a lower (or higher) voltage than the IBC expects, which would cause the servo-output pulses from the receiver to unreadable to the IBC micro.

Check the voltage coming from the 2nd ESC BEC and compare it to the IBC's (which runs 5v). If the 2nd ESC is below about 4.2v or above about 5.2v, that would unbalance the inputs on the IBC as well.

I'll be there, but not until at least 2:30pm. I won't be competing, but I'll bring my bot anyway. I'll also bring my radio controlled car with a front scoop on it for soccer.

A great day all!
Thanks to everyone. good to see some new and "old" faces (excuse the pun Rick) Wink .
We acheieved what we set out to, being a good round of fights, some good ideas and input for the new arena, introducing some new faces to the sport, a builders meeting, and getting another event decided on.
There was some great feedback from the guys from Chisholm Tafe. Lets hope they bring some new builders in.
Benny our 10 year old pirotech made up for the absence of the licenced one. (who called this morning to appologise for getting the date wrong)
The soccer was cut a little short but it did happen, in fact I'm up for another at sidetracked, (maby sticking to rc cars).
I think the only thing we didnt decide on was a name for the arena.I think a poll is in order.
Thanks again to everyone and see you all at sidetracked.
