@ Aaron, Weight is actualy hidious for my build style. Almost 1.9 kg each. On the other hand, these babies are build to last.
All hardened steel gears 7-1 gearratio. The wheel itself runs on 2 61912 2RS bearings. The intermediate gear runs on a sinterbronze bushing.

Cost, not to be repeated. 2 Speed 900's and 4 61912 bearings make a serious dent in any wallet. And finding those 84 teeth gearrings ain't easy nor cheap either.

@ RogueTwoRobots. Clamping the body of a speed 900 ain't the best plan, but can be done with a simple clamp. No, the large support plate is ment to be mounted on the frame or monocoque , with the frame-mononcoque as template to drill the holes.

Actualy, after seeing the extra stage on the winch motors of Double Dragon, it seems there is a supply of the right gearrings in Australia...

Nebelwerfer 1.3

Not a 30lbs feather, but a 6 Kg machine, a Raptor build to German rules.

The red bit is a 1 kg 250mm length spinning bar.
Currently running @3.5Krpm, but has run up to 8Krpm in previous configurations. (eating Speed 700 Turbo C motors, as those are the most powerfull ones allowed in the German raptors.)

That massive pulley is a huge target for an opponent to hit, why not add a reduction (single stage of a dewalt gearbox?) to the front of the brushless motor and run a 1:1 (or the required ratio)belt drive after that? Would allow the pulley and belt to be lesser of a target and probably reduce some weight.

This is part 1 of the "front upholder". A second one will be added later today, as well as titanium skids.

Weight and vurnability of the pully, I'm not worried.
With the current configuration, we're at 11 kg, including the uncut 15mm HDPE armor plate and supports.

I'm even contemplating replacing the Gimson GR01's with Speed 900 MSR 12-72 drives. Adding a kilo in drive, but upping drivepower to "rambot power".

Cool. What material are the wheels? They remind me of those 'airless tyres'

Those wheels are based upon the Michelin Tweel.
30mm thick HDPE plate, CNC milled to order.
Design by Flex and milled by Grafix.

Can use some refinement. These don't bounce well atm

These use screwed on bike tire. The next generation probably cast polyurethane.
