Internals all fit nicely, plenty of room for weapon controllers too. Now just need to get it welded properly.

Not to watch the footy.

Today was first day I have had bit of time to work on robots again. Got all the stuff printed for mounting all the bits in Dual Saw. Also picked up some more saws.

Chassis has gone to dad to be welded. Started on second robot. Worked out where everything is going to sit in the new rehashed flying V. Pulled apart the pneumatics setup and rehashed the layout with a compressor instead of CO2. Seems to be able to fit just need to make some mounting plates and weld them in. Made new mounting plates for new motors so that is all good as well.

If I get some time tomorrow I might try and get it welded up.

I haven't cracked these ones but other ones I had just had few layers of thick ish double sided foam tape. I am guessing its more about spreading the load than padding. If I have the room I intend to put a bit of padding under them.

So bit more work done the sarv.

Drives, compresses, fires. Just waiting for the JB weld to set then will bundle all the wires in and see what happens.

Might need a new battery, a tidy up and a bit of armour but essentially back up and running.

Yeh the deodorant can is one I scrounged which was the perfect size to fit exactly where I wanted to put my buffer tank. I guess its better than the water bottle I have in naked turtle.

I mounted most things with some degree of success. I think I should name rename it as well. There is 0 protection on most of the things. The stupid solenoid is in the worst position and is completely exposed but not really sure what I can do about that. Will see how much it weighs when I am done. I think it was something like 8kg last time so plenty to play with.

I also drew up a very simple feather switch. It uses 2 strips of 6mm ali which are tapped and work in a similar fashion to the fingertech switch will be interesting to see if it works but only one way to find out right. I also might try soldering to the ali with the motor oil trick if I can get that to work. Problem will be getting enough heat into a chunk of ali that size. Its printing as we speak so real question will be how it stands up to heat and impacts.

I present to you quite possibly the worst switch ever.

It is 2 printed parts two strips of 30 x 10 x 6mm ali 2 x M5 Taps and 1 M6 Tap. Two M6 Holes to bolt to chassis.

I put 200A through it. Not sure if it was the switch or the battery sagging but battery started to get warm and voltage sagged about 4V prolly needs brass bolt instead steel.

Need to really find some ring terminals. But looks good. Wire him up and we are away.

I don't think I could sell ABS printed switches and be ok with it. Motor mounts yes switches I just dunno. It will be interesting to see if my ABS ones go floppy.

Well if the design can be milled out of HDPE or whatever is most appropriate in a big batch, you might still be onto something
