Antweights - American or UK Rules?

Laughing This is driving me nuts, even though no one is making one I just want to work out which ruleset we would follow. Currently, we use american rules for featherweights, lightweights and beetleweights. So I would assume we use the american rules for "fairyweights" at 150g and no size restrictions, unlike the UK ruleset. I guess if I got an arena built and started my own comp I could decide what rules I followed anyway eh? Laughing

Laughing Small but Expensive is also a good name!
I'm going to say we try the UK rules, they're a bit harder. Smile More of a challange.

The RFL fairyweights do have to comply with a 100x100x100 size limit. I saw them messing around with a clear acrylic box during tech inspections at Robogames.

Oh? Hmm, i've been misinformed, again lol.
Cheers for that, i've been trying to contact one. Anyone know if there's a ruleset up for the american ones?
EDIT: I found a link to the RFL ruleset but it was dead, I did find this however.
"Q: What's the maximum size for antweights? One competition site it said it was 4" by 4". Do fairyweights have a maximum size?

A: Neither SozBots nor RFL rules specify a maximum size for U.S. antweights or fairyweights. It's the British '150 gram' antweights that must fit in a 4" cube."

Those were for Sumo robots, not combat robots.

Thanks for Clearing that up. Very Happy
I did think they didn't use it, but got a bit confused.
It's mainly the fact there's one with a 5 inch blade that proved it. Laughing
Me and dylon have decided to go without the box, it's more of an inconvenience than anything else.
If Aaron want's to whinge... meh Cool

OK. I can admit I am wrong. Glad I wasn't seeing things with that box though.

No worries.

Although this IS my cue to ask everyone to build a sumo robot for 2008. There IS a cash prize for 3kg sumo (both R/C and Auton.)

Probably up to Ver. 2 by then Laughing I have the frame built, motors ready, Magnetic traction WAY over powered and many other bits purchased. I recently decided to change the urethane on the wheels for something a little harder - the magnetic hold down is so effective, I think it would crush the urethane I was planning to use. If the Singapore guys don't show up, I feel that if the bot makes it to RG08, I will be coming back with a medal of some sort in the Sumo Razz
