I am thinking of getting a 600 and would like to talk to any 600 owners. If you have one can you email me on donr@redflex.com.au. Maybe i could call you and or meet up next time you go flying? I have a 450XL.

I hope its OK to use this forum service this way?

The T-rex 600 is more of an outdoor machine.

Its a big, powerful, scary (and expensive !) Heli that can really only be hovered about gently indoors (and even then with most people hiding behind something), unlike the much smaller 450, which can be belted about the place in a medium basketball court.

They seem more stable to fly than the 450's (judging by the simulator anyway), but mistakes are a lot more of a pain in the wallet.

They probably put you more in the outdoor Flying-Field/Helicopter-Club scene (and makes your flying more subject to needing nice weather), rather than the indoor heli pilots

You are welcome to use the forum to chat about 600's if you want, but you probably wont find many 600 pilots here.

Thanks for the replies. I might get in touch with ZX12R. I have a 450 but was looking for something bigger but not nitro.

trex600 is top of the line stuff as far as electric goes in my opinion

sure theres always something better but the trex600 is cheap and good

each battery will cost you $500 and you will want 2
do not buy the ewatts or align batterys as they are crap
get flightpower or hyperion 6's 5000mah

you could get away with a 401 gyro but a hundred or so bucks more gets you a 611, so get the 611 they are better and look sweet Smile

dont worry about upgrades
it flys fantastic with just the stock parts
i have some bling on mine but thats because i crashed it and replaced the busted bits with upgrades

hope this helps

wow, thats an expensive machine ! - so far

$1000 for 2 batteries
$300 for a Gyro
$700~ for the Heli
$400-$500 in Servos

thats $2500 for a no bling basic machine, with no accessories, tools, cases etc and assuming you already have the radio tx/rx and battery charger rig.

And you cant fly it indoors ! Not meaning to bag it, since its definitely a nice machine to look at and watch fly, but thats just a step into a relam of $$ I'm styaing away from.. Shocked

Different strokes for different folks I suppose. A cashed-up friend of mine is getting stoked about the idea of a scale Jet-Turbine powered MD500. Doesnt look like you get much change out of $10,000 for that !

I'd be building another Gyrocopter that I could ride myself if I was going to spend that sort of money, no wonder they call Helicopters the "crack cocaine" of R/C Laughing
