that should only give you points if you drive the LEDs to spell out messages in the air as the bar spins Smile

One of the US Robots "Cyclone" ( I think) did that on a full-body spinner. It looked very awesome, and the idea of being able to press a button and have your bot light up with "Take that !" or similair would be cool.

The Neons and flashing Leds could look good too, although I'd hate to think what it would take to keep them working on something that took impacts like Annihlations spinner does. Shocked

Looks like I'm going to have to show you all what style is all about when I get Adversary and The Aggressor going again. The 3 red spot light LED's didn't show up that well in the arena though.

No Tim, No!

I always thought a spot of paint wouldn't go astray on any of your bots, but KO now has that "Mad Max 2" look about it.

Maybe some rust, splattered blood, mud or some cow hide - or even a bulls horn as a spike if we are running with the mad max theme.

I think theres more to style than just LEDs (even though I have 4 of them on mine plus a 10 segment LED bargraph voltmeter), theres the overall shape, perhaps a theme, interesting paintjob, a few of my fave Oz bots that IMHO have style are:

Pinscher, the hannibal lector mask on front, great mechanical movement/style.

PlanB, geometric, symmetric, carbon fibre Mondrian art.

Inspector general, check out the hot rod paint job on the mudguards while it makes your wheels square.

KO, like the Millenium Falcon, the biggest hunk of junk in the galaxy, but its got it where it counts, maybe think of Mad Max 2 & 3.

Adversary, the evil looking crushing claw, fine it got shattered, but lots of guts to try something different.

ElBravo, styled like a Volvo station wagon with air bags from hell.

Battledamage, although a boring and square first revision, its got CO2 and neat mechanics, another person doing something interesting, can't wait to see Revision 2.

Stainless Steel Rat, I dig the shape, the two pods attached at the rear of the body, the brushed Delorean finish, the diminutive raised spikes, a lot of work considering Gary could have just made a diagonal cut into the tank and attached the drives.

Everyone seems charged after Marayong, there should be some crazy stuff turning up on the doorstep at Robowars 2.

if you can think of a way to do something "cool" with it, (rather than just hurl insults at your opponent), then it might win you a style point in a closely fought match.. Laughing Of course, if the opposing bot came out wearing headphones or earplugs in reponse, then i think I'd have to give the style point to them. Razz
