excellent. got the steel base plate mounted in now, sits flush with the base and weighs the same as the old one in addition to provide much more strength.
shaft is also cut out and have a nice new 25mm one sitting in there cant believe 1 meter of shaft cost $13... i heart edcon steel!

That's a good price for 25mm shaft - was it hardened and/or polished? If you want, I can bore out the bar and pulley to make a good fit on the bigger bearing. _________________ Australian 2015 Featherweight champion

not too sure what type it is, dont think its hardened though. looked alot like stainless steel sparks though when i was cutting it which is interesting.

;.; !!
anyway to reduce epic failure heres the new shaft and semi welded in base plate. had to cut the other side off as it bent heaps when i was tacking it on and shattered the other welds off. yargh, will fix that tommorow.

yes it can be so we unveil phailbot v2! haha
i will cut the bottom out of the side box section, build the drive train within that and then weld the bottom back on in 3mm steel. so we should have 4wd all in the same space as before. excellent.

whooo damn. and plenty more to come
should have the bisalloy bars back next week. they are 20mm wider and 2mm thicker beefing the weapon weight up to 12kg from 7.5kg.
also having an adapter lathed up for a 25mm bearing to go on top of the bar, then ill weld it on and will recess the bottom bearing straight into the pulley. which should make a nice strong setup.
aside from that am ditching the 300w scooter setups in favour of ev esque fan motors. the performance was impressive and they are much smaller than the 300 motors + easier to mount so will go on the great pick and payless venture to find some more

well have some progress on this robot anyway. i wont be using the timing pulleys on this version but instead v belt to limit the shock
and $120 later and my new weapon motor has finally shown up. woohoo! all 9hp of it will start making some mounts up for that this week. should be a tight fit but will make it fit in any case _________________ www.demon50s.com - Minimoto parts
