does anyone reckon that the larger sized fan motors or a pair of 300w scooters would power a heavyweight around reasonably _________________ www.demon50s.com - Minimoto parts

It depends on how fast you want it to go and what sort of pushing power you want .We had vertex running on 4 x windscreen wiper motors .It had a reasonable amount of torque but was only 6klm at 36 volts .I recon 4 of those scooter motors would probaly push a heavy around reasonable

yeah, i was just having thoughts about turning my lightweight crusher into a heavyweight, run a pair of wheels and the 300w motors at 36v. _________________ www.demon50s.com - Minimoto parts

pff u dork, just get 36 volts into the lightweight, uber crushing power and drive train powa
I had 4 300 watt setups working (was a dodgy setup) in lockjaw and it had way more than enough power at 36 volts, it could move it upto damn near full speed witin 3 metres im guessing so way fast acceleration and weighed a crapload and wheelspan was massive and dody chain/sprocket munting setup and no issues with motors or anything so hell yeah they have power.
WIll have bike done soon hopefully and it has one 300 watt setup at 36 volts and bike weighs bout 30 kg so it can be the test bed with a 80kg rider like me on it as to how one motor and stuff performs and what acceleration/power power consumption/overall speed and if motor gets hot or not after a while _________________ Andrew Welch, Team Unconventional Robotics

the lightweight and heavy will be the same thing, the heavy version will just have much bigger batteries more of them and steel platting all over it. and possibly another weapon on it. _________________ www.demon50s.com - Minimoto parts

With 2 wheels and almost all the weight on the wheels no problem; 4 wheels on Lawnmower really loads up the drive when turning.
Bulldoze cheats; the centre wheels carry most of the weight.

Verex ..if no one noticed it at Brisbane has a 5th wheel just in front of the main rear drive wheels .This is a doly wheel actuated by a solonoide and it lifts the rear drive wheels just clear of the surface when the steering is set so both motors are going in different directions .The robot can then pivot around on the front drives.

Hello! remember me?! its been a while since i was on here last but i have been through trial exams. But yeah on monday the HSC markers came around to have a geeze at Scratch because he was my D&T major design project, I have got a couple of photos in the pic section if u wanta have a look. He ended up being 113kg because i made the frame from 3mm steel RHS but if i fix that up should be RFL compatible for a heavy!
Hey Andrew, is Lockjaw running?
You could do a combat robot for your MDP in DT? That's fantastic!
*plans my robot*. I wanted to do one, but believed only a product could be done... unless you made it "the ultimate childrens toy" _________________ ( •_•)
