QLD Ant weight bot battles
We were inspired while at BattleBots by the guys from BotBash who bought along their arena and an array of antweight bots to play with while we were waiting for the big fights to be announced.
We have built a fully portable covered antweight arena and are just finishing off six antweights to take to Gladstone for its first test out ( no comp just open during pauses or lunch or as a fill in) .
We were thinking of starting some kind of Robotics Group in Ipswich getting newcomers, kids students interested in robotics through making antweights.
Seeing we have this arena we wanted to see if anyone on the forum would be interested in regular antweight battles with the thought in mind of including newcomers and kids?
Sorry phillip is keen too. I just need to reactivate his account. _________________ Steven Martin

Thanks, Steve.
I would like to battle ants. I haven't used them for two years so I will have to check the batteries. _________________ So even the rain that falls isn't actually going to fill our dams and our river systems

Is there much of a lip on the raised platform? When we did antweights down here, the spinners could bounce opponents off the roof, making for very short fights in an arena with a platform like that. _________________ Australian 2015 Featherweight champion

Yep its a death platform for spinners - flippers will have a field day thought🤖 It is wood so spinners wont destroy themselves as fast as they do with the qrsc metal arena💥 _________________ Miles Blow - Julie Pitts

Nice! If you bring it to Vivid/Nationals next year, we'll bring some ants as well.

Stig and Fire Ant charged up. Those batteries are several years old and sat for two years. I thought they would be dead. Just need to change a wheel and I am good to go. _________________ So even the rain that falls isn't actually going to fill our dams and our river systems
