For Sale: Laser Cutter K40 Unused - $450

Well after many attempts I have failed to ship the laser cutter to NZ. If anyone else wants it I am keen to recover a bit of cash.

Unused and unopened.

Did you have to import the laser or are they available locally?

I'm not interested in buying at this moment, but are the Chinese Laser cutters like this one which are found on ebay any good?

I'd just be looking to cut acrylic and engrave MDF/PLY( I know cutting PLY is difficult for even good lasers)

They are "good for the money". I hear that the software is terrible and most people soon upgrade the ventilation and the water cooling. There a plenty of YouTube videos about them and community forums. Glen bought a laser a few years ago and after much work, it cuts cleaner than most commercial places.

I like the idea of buying one from a local source so there is a little bit of support and its less likely to be damaged in transit.

So I picked this one especially as its the one I have.

It has software that isn't good but is usable. And I have managed to make a bunch of stuff with it.
