Five entrants this month competing in a tournament of two round robins.
Our entrants and their bots were:
Chris - Green Devil, Shrapnel
James - Orange Dynamo
Steve - Picobyte, Cut Above, Botbitz Blue
Owen - The Force
Ben - Make Like a Tree, Red Dynamo, Push Over
It was a great night last night. We got to see some good changes in regards to match control and safety. We got to see some great improvements to our regular fighting bots and some excellent new bots (Make Like a Tree wins with an excellent looking design)!
The fight standings at the end of the tournament were:
1st James (7 Wins)
2nd Steve (5 Wins)
3rd Owen (4 Wins)
4th Chris (3 Wins)
5th Ben (1 Win)
Thanks again to Steven Martin for supplying some Botbitz prizes!
Next month's meet will be on the 14th of May, 6pm. Please message myself of James2 for details.
Remember, you don't need to have a bot ready to complete, we have plenty of spares for anyone to have a go! Invite your friends!

Thanks to James for hosting again, Chris for the awesome arena upgrades, and Steven/BotBits for the prizes. We had a great time again, and Owen was stoked by the bits he won. He'd already come up with a new bot design by the time we got home!

hey everyone, hope everyone has been building and improving.
Believe it or not but the next meet is only 10 days away.
So next meet same place as usual. 14th of may, 6pm.
I am going to try and set up a little better and try and be a bit organised.
For pit areas:(the boring stuff)
A table per person (or 2 if your willing to share a space/bots) we can always expand to outside on nice days.
I will have spare tables if anyone dose not have one.
I will supply a heat gun, soldering station, hot glue gun and a range of small tools.
I have power boards and ext leads but it would be handy if you had your own to so I don't run out.
There will be a staging area to power bots up before going in to the arena,
like last time. This area will contain only scales and test box and nothing else
and lined with Hazard tape.
Bots can only be powered up out side the area with approval and everyone has to be aware.
All lipo batteries being charged kept in lipo bags or metal container this includes if being charged inside a bot.
(I will have spare lipo bags if needed so don't worry)
If there is any other safety aspects I have missed plz voice them.
Also anything anyone wants to bring up at the next meet.
Now for the tough question: what do we want to eat?

I've been building, but not antweights! Owen's working on a new one, doing most of it himself (he was very excited to use the drill for the first time), but I'm not sure that it'll be ready for the next meet.
I'll try to remember to chuck in a power board and extension cord. I have a folding table, just not sure that I can fit it in my car with Owen in the back seat.
I know Owen would vote for pizza again, but I'd be happy with something else, be it BBQ or otherwise.

Nah, Cut Above and The Force still work fine (I just have to remember to bring the non-broken wheels this time), we just won't have any new or upgraded bots. I'm not going to even bother trying Picobyte again until I can balance the shell better, and by the time I actually have time to do that I'll probably get bored and just start on my pneumatic flipper ant

I have started my pneumatic flipper, it is a real challenge with huge wait times on parts. I have got it to work at 40psi but leaks if i go higher. got some 150psi rated model aircraft pneumatic coming though.

May 14th fight night recap!!
Great night folks!
We had eight (EIGHT!) entrants tonight! Excellent turn out!
Our entrants were:
Chris
James
Steve
Owen
Ben
Michael
Natasha
Harper
This month we competed in a double elimination tournament. The tournament had a win and lose bracket, which fighters fought in and swapped back and forth. If you lost while in the lose brackets (therefore two loses in a row), you were out!
The final standings for the evening were:
1st - Michael with Botbitz Blue
2nd - James with Orange Dynamo and Reaper
3rd - Ben with Don't Need Roads
The highlights video can be found here:
https://youtu.be/nQ0PnJg2Lqg
I tried a few different things with this video and got to use the different angles a little more this time round (no GoPro issues this month). Let me know what you all think and if you've got any suggestions for improving the videos for next month.
Huge thank you again to James for hosting, getting the pizzas ordered and keeping the beers cold! LEGEND!
Next fight night will be on the 11th of June, same time, same place. PM myself or James2 for details. Feel free to ask questions on this thread too.
Plenty of spare bots to go around so tell your friends! Everyone's welcome to compete or even spectate!

Awesome video.
that shrapnel is going to be insane once you have finished it.
I might be forced to upgrade the dynamo to be competitive.

Awesome work again Chris, and I think the bot intros work really well. Loved seeing again that little tap into the pit Shrapnel gave Don't Need Roads!
