They run the Bosch because at 24v the 750's will drive a heavyweight around with only 60-70amp drive loads, the EV's just start smoking and give up when getting 200amp surges from driving. Plus the 750's can run on 36v with a bit of care.

Mmm, cant see that.

According to the specs I have, the GPA has a stall current of over 300 amps , is a 24v nominal motor and weighs over 2.5 times (3.6Kg each !) what the Ev-Warrior does (GPB), so its no wonder they cope with heavies better.

But you could fit more than double the number of EV's in for the same weight, and they have a stall current rating of 99amps at 12v, and 200amps at 24v. The GPA would probably still out-power them, and has a much better efficiency (84% as opposed the GPB's 64%) so I can see that the running current would probably be lower.

But they still sound like an expensive fragile beast to me based on the amount of fiddling roboteers usually do to try and get them to hold together. But now that the cheap supply of surplus EV-Warriors has dried up, its probably a moot point anyway...

I'm not much of a fan of the 750's, as for a much lighter package, you can get a well built C40-500 Magmotor for some extra expense plus a bonus 3.5HP at the same voltage for the same weight.

I centre-punched and drilled the 3 rivets holding the brake drum. On two rivets I drilled thru the head and left the body in the wheel. On the last rivet, I fed the drill a bit harder & the drill jammed, spinning the rivet and heating the plastic so the rivet came out in one piece. Both ways work and the second way saves a little weight. Use a drill 8mm or larger.
