Hmm.. I used to have a part time job doing some of that when I was your age.. Laughing

Advise ? Theres only one way to learn how to assemble a PCB.. Practise. The place I worked had 40yo moms on an assembly line building circuits, and I was mortified to discover that they could solder better than I could, despite not knowing an op-amp from a comparator Wink

If you want to impress them, take along some stuff that you've made yourself (your Robot might be a good start). It doesnt have to be top-notch quality, just showing them that you are interested and enthused enough to actually do this sort of thing on your own time as opposed to someone who just wants a paycheck should put you a long way ahead of most applicants.

The place I work for actualy gave me a soldering "test". They gave me an old board and some componants to see what I could do. But don't worry, there are always simple non-soldering jobs to do (ha ha, cable prep, ha ha).
As for old ladies. nope young Vietnamese girls here. Cool
