There goes my dreams of a lizard UFC!

Back to robots, my pile of spares is slowly growing:

Somehow it doesn't look big enough - I am trying to have four of everything this time and there is still quite a way to go.

Last minute tune-up:

Mr Mangle got some improvements today; the beater is quite a bit sharper now I sanded the edges.

The anti-wedge forks are now shorter to lower the beater to floor shaving height.

That's about 1mm clearance; best be grinding a knife edge on your wedge ! Razz

Or maybe just use driving skill to wedge from the back or side ? Wink

Armoured Bricks can use the front entrance when facing KE drums,
Everyone else should know better.

1mm clearance? RIP Floor. Razz @ Spockie aiming for the spinny bits is the best part! Razz

@ Angus: I'm doing a public service - making sure all the floor seams are smooth and level.

Thank goodness it is double thickness.

I hope you will be there on Friday nick to put in 100 floor screws.

I agree with angus, sure you could be tactical and go for the rear but front on aggression is where the sparks are.

Progress:

* Shiny now has the floor shaving mod on its front forks.

* I shortened all Mr Mangle's weapon belts slightly to make them grip better; its amazing what just a 5mm difference makes!

* Mr Mangle is getting new titanium mounting plates for the roll-over hoops. The aluminium ones were bending and allowing the hoops to flex too much.

* Mr Mangle is getting an on-board HD camera; I'm hoping for some exciting footage with the new arena lights.

Are you planning to grind flat the Robochallenge arena? Hehe, that's even lower than C3 at 2.5mm. I'd have another pair of forks that can lift the beater as you may find it hitting the joins in the floor, sending you flying backwards!

Yes, I still have forks for both bots that raise the beater up - no point in wearing the blade out on the floor when I don't have to.
