hey guys….yep the plan is to have a winch /starter motor/scooter powered crank that turns and loads the spring….the bit of wood I'm pulling on ,is a half circle of ply wood…seems to work…but wont know till i get a motor in there.

Nice.
Watch out for starter motors, they pull mega amps (ok hectoamps if you want to be accurate)

yep and they are heavy….gonna see if a scooter /belt setup works….don't have any spare winches other wise i would just use that. Actually got a golf buggy motor/gearbox that might have enough torque to crank this mother.

went back to the tip and sure enough the other ancient garage door spings that i didn't get last week, were still there…so grabbed them…. now i wasn't to scared to chop one in half to test to see if it would work.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o0dPmjifV3s&feature=youtu.be

ok this is with the spring cut down by half…and still packs a punch/flip…..this will allow the bot to be a lot smaller.

….i dragged out the 800watt redhead for this, so i don't send everyone into into an epileptic blow out.

Thats so cool Very Happy

I reckon if you cut the long one down into shorter pieces and mounted it like this you would get some epic power - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F5Y_4d9UhEA

yeah the multi springs give it more power but its going to be a nightmare to make a mechanism to reload it if its stronger. i had my whole weight on he flipper to load the two full springs in one of the other tests.

tested out this vege steamer as acetone gasser….tried it like this with just acetone in he bottom…that didn't do much so chucked a chux in there…that lets the acetone engulf the abs better….so after 3 hours ya get this…. no chance of bubbling this way.

also starting on metal version of the flipper
