Appears that Amazon doesn't actually sell them, they just broker.

There are other Colson suppliers on Amazon; A company called Handtrucks & casters sells the same parts and other Colson items as well.

I got some recycled ones off eBay from a charity group in the US for $1 each plus postage. Were a little warn but still great for combat and came with a free bible.

Another question

Looking into ripping off dyloins method of mounting wheels, (put tap in m16 bolt, thread onto drill shaft, drill gut of bolt out to put bolt/screw in with long series tool of some sort

Now looking into possibly getting two red wheels side by side, make little steel lugs either side with bolts running through. Would give me a nice phat footprint to get as most traction to the floor as possible

Was thinking doing that with other end of bolt shaft supported with bearing block and glueing/screwing my own tyre over the red wheels. Main issue i see is where the seam sits on the wheel if thatll make it drive awkward

The uk guys do this alot and apparently works ok

Would also allow me to save some money

Not sure if I understand Dylon's wheel mounts; are they drilled & tapped at one end for the 3/8" drill shaft? Do they need a hole right through for the left-hand screw? If they work for one wheel, there should be no reason why they won't work for two. If the M16 bold is a tight fit in the wheel bore, you probably don't need anything else to keep them together (perhaps some epoxy where they meet at the rims.

Damn i missed Dylon's mods... What ever mount you use,….. we reckon for a drill to survive a day of battling it needs a bearing on the outer side of the wheel. Pickasso's kmart drills are still fine after all those flips from Glen….surly the gearboxes would have failed without that extra support.

Also to save more money …you can buy identical red wheels for $4 from Richmond wheels and castors…..so almost half price from bunnings Very Happy

What is the go with Radios these days?
None of my current ones are very good at mixing and with my IBC now resting in piece it is time to get something useful so I don't have to hold the remote on an angle.

I know Orange was popular a little while back.

I don't know about the Orange TX - the Spektrum DX6i with an AR610 receiver seems to be regarded a a gold standard and definitely failsafes on all channels.

From my build thread.

So can someone with a lathe grab 2 x M12 nuts and rip them down for me?
I'll post this somewhere else too.

I don't have any M12 nuts - how about something a bit stronger turned from a 22mm chrome steel hex bar? Or I could make the same thing from 7075 aluminium if you thingk it will be strong enough.

Weight is no problem and I'll be loading the thread, so I'd prefer steel.
22 Hex? Hmmmmm. Over all length = 8mm, Step dia 20mm (-0.2), step length = 1.8mm, M12 through the bore.

The assembly would be like this:

That doesn't sound too hard; is the blade thickness 1.8mm or thicker? You would probably want the hight of the step just slightly less than the blade thickness.

Yep. The blade is 2mm. I might be too picky and 1.5mm will do

Personally, I would go 1.95 so there was more bearing surface. If the step is a little high its easy to file down.
