All good, You can buy us a drink or 5 at the champs Razz

And miles - 14mm seems to be as large as the bosch ones go, bunnings has quite a few more though. I think those kango brand ones will go to 16mm but not sure if they are the split point type or just a normal masonry bit.

Hah, safe man I'll remember to do that. So much love right there.

I think I can get a similar thing from work too in a variety of smaller sizes and more importantly staff discount. BRB drilling all the hardened stuff ever

super heavy duty tapping fluid:

I am looking for a local source for tapping fluid for titanium. It needs to be sulphurised and/or chlorinated; the closest thing so far is this stuff from Hare & Forbes but its still not ideal:

After checking out all the engineering shops I know about and much googling, it looks impossible to find in Australia, while you can buy it in most hardware shops in the US Mad. Does anyone have any sources for high grade tapping oil?

Tap Magic extra thick would be about the same or maybe a bit better than the Tricky stuff - I will have a search for that.

Yikes, that Tap Magic stuff is $100 per litre Shocked (or $20 USD if you don't have to pay the Australia tax)

That was the price on eBay! There are other, cheaper listings but they are all from the US and its near impossible to ship anything inflammable nowadays. I will try the stuff from H&F; hopefully it will prevent another $50 tap from breaking.

Tapping fluid by the litre... That's a lot of tapping.

That was the light duty stuff - I need the goopy black version for titanium and stainless steel and not many places stock it.

Had to tap some ti today at work and that jogged my memory Razz this is what we use - https://www.blackwoods.com.au/part/03360364/fluid-metalcutting-rocol-safetap-500ml.

it says titanium on the bottle i have, though i reckon the no sulfur part is a little BS. Can definitely smell it when tapping hard stuff.

I wish it mentioned Ti on the web site - it doesn't even say its heavy duty Confused.

@ Miles: you must have sweet-talked the Blackwoods rep; its shows $40 on-line. Hare & Forbes was out of the Tricky's cutting oil so I ordered the pricey Tap Magic stuff - will let you know how that goes on Monday.
