Got a simular one, but with the power button low, next to the lever that switches direction on the main feed.

A lot safer than on top tough, something you'll want to change.

That's a great idea to use the original grinder shaft for a brushless motor - its difficult to couple a separate motor to the gearbox. I would think about adding a support bearing at the back so the gearbox isnt supporting the weight of the motor.

brett used grinder gearboxes in IG.
seemed to work ok, but not really up to running (or being hit by) spinners.
Plan-B broke the gearbox as i recall.

The gears themselves can be quite good especially from a 7"-9" grinder, however if your expecting to swing a 2kg spinning bar or disc off them, it explode rather quickly.

Its more the strength of the gearbox case and the output bearing - if you can add a larger bearing, that would go a long way to battle-hardening the gearbox.

thanks jules he is a big puppy now! I was originally looking at using the gearbox for a FBS but looking at the height of the ntm motor upright makes bugger all difference anyway.

Also does anybody have any links to some full body spinner build diaries? All I have found is the shreddy one and little spinner 4 upgrade
