Quick question guys, hope you don't mind me posting it in here.
Is there likely to be any problems with reprogramming a Botbitz 85a ESC with the code that people use for self-hacking?
Reason for asking is that I tried running one Botbitz 85a ESC and one self-programmed TZ-85 in my featherweight the other day, but the two ESCs seem to have slightly different characteristics. When I push the transmitter stick forward, the Botbitz one has a slower kick-in speed and generally has better low-end control, whereas the self-programmed one kicks in more quickly but isn't as smooth at low speeds and the motor seems to spin faster than the other one at full speed, judging by the sound of the motors. Presumably this is to do with the code used in the reprogramming of the ESCs being different. Ultimately, it results in the robot pulling to one side when driving.
So, with both time and money before the champs running out, I'm hoping to just reprogram the Botbitz ESC with the self-programming code so that the ESC characteristics match more closely, and just wanted to check that it would just be the same programming process but with the different code. The answer's probably an obvious 'yes it'll be fine' but better to be safe than sorry!
Obviously I'd need to resolder the middle wire and it would invalidate any warranty or returns procedure with the BB unit but it would save me time and hassle.
