I'm waiting on a set of 2800 KV motors to add to a set of those 20-1 gearboxes. But I'm going to use 3S.

Now the main Q is, what will those cost us here in Europe?
Luckely, we have Ellis Ware.

You had the 36mm style ones last time that had rather small gears for the size of the gearbox (hence why we stopped selling them), these are a 42mm gearbox and have gears that are bigger then your standard drill motor and should hold up better. Time will tell though, will be looking at putting them into a test robot shortly.

There is a set in Valkiri3 atm, with an RS775 motor on them.
Feels solid.

We are still low on stock as two of our resellers (Team Tiki in USA, Ranglebox in UK) both placed sizeable orders. We have stock coming, but it's just not here yet Razz

Had a little time over the weekend to test fit some brushless motors to the magnum style samples.

Redrilled the motor mounting holes to suit the brushless motors (we can get the supplier to do this for us).

Comparison of the RS775 and the 1100kv inrunner.

The brushless works out to be 5mm shorter in length.

The inrunners share mounting PCD so I was able to easily switch between 1100kv to 2100kv, which will work for those who want to stick with 3S-4S drive instead of 5S-6S

Very cool

Would botbitz be able to sell a pair of these along with ESCs as some sort of complete kit with appropriate combo discount?

A pair? I guess if the price is right, we could afford a few pairs to upgrade Hannibalito3.2 and provide for any successor.

To be honest, no. We cannot get any discount on the motors and ESC's from HK that would make it worth our time. The only place we would make any profit is on the gearboxes, which is pretty slim currently due to the shit AUD$.

The best we can offer is to get the gearboxes pre-drilled with the mounting holes to suit brushless motors and spare pinions to make it a simple bolt together affair.

Quick question guys, hope you don't mind me posting it in here.

Is there likely to be any problems with reprogramming a Botbitz 85a ESC with the code that people use for self-hacking?

Reason for asking is that I tried running one Botbitz 85a ESC and one self-programmed TZ-85 in my featherweight the other day, but the two ESCs seem to have slightly different characteristics. When I push the transmitter stick forward, the Botbitz one has a slower kick-in speed and generally has better low-end control, whereas the self-programmed one kicks in more quickly but isn't as smooth at low speeds and the motor seems to spin faster than the other one at full speed, judging by the sound of the motors. Presumably this is to do with the code used in the reprogramming of the ESCs being different. Ultimately, it results in the robot pulling to one side when driving.

So, with both time and money before the champs running out, I'm hoping to just reprogram the Botbitz ESC with the self-programming code so that the ESC characteristics match more closely, and just wanted to check that it would just be the same programming process but with the different code. The answer's probably an obvious 'yes it'll be fine' but better to be safe than sorry!

Obviously I'd need to resolder the middle wire and it would invalidate any warranty or returns procedure with the BB unit but it would save me time and hassle.

Cheers
