Good luck! How did you go browsing the McMaster site and paying? Before I was completely banned Mad, I could place orders and then McMaster would send a 'Sorry we can't accept your order' email. If you don't get one in 1 - 3 days, you are probably going to get your stuff. I'm thinking of using Tor to get around their dumb-ass customer policies.

I just browsed using the VPN (unblock-us) I use for other things.... like getting access to certain streaming services from within Australia.

Good stuff, my order has also shipped. Out of interest, how many different things did you order? The company I was using to order parts from McMaster said that orders with more than 7 lines would be rejected as they were considered to be from resellers ordering for other people. It sounds insane but that's what I was told Confused

It just wants a description. It is quite expensive though the on shipping cost me $30.

Which means I paid $40 in shipping for a $20 item. So I think it would only be worthwhile for high value low weight orders.

That's exactly my strategy - small / expensive / hard to get. Any 2 out of 3 makes buying at McMaster worth while. They don't seem to have small boxes, so you might be paying for some expensive American air with that shipment; I try to batch up as many items as possible to make the shipping more cost effective.

I was just trying so didn't want to invest too much. I sometimes wonder with a return airfare would be worthwhile.

Just got an email from rotocastor - seems they've launched a pretty new site and have some omniwheels with crazy soft rubber (35A !). http://www.rotacaster.com.au/shop-product/robotic-wheels/rotacaster-48mm-double-35a--polyurethane--legox-hub-2-pack

Next 2 days the robotics ones are 15% off with code "RoboticsXmas". Could be good for some experimental beetles mayhaps? Smile

Is that just a 550 style motor in a aluminum tube and chuck bolted onto the output shaft (maybe a shaft adapter poking out the front)?

I am not sure how you are meant to use it as something like a drill based on the specs

Idling speed: 6000~13000rpm

The polishing, grinding and cutting wheels could potentially be usable (shown in photo)

Best I can tell it is a dremal style alternative ]. They can operate at this kinda RPM (although typically not very flexible without variable speed)

Just thinking is could be modded or copied. Thought someone might have a use for the shell itself and whack a brushless motor or something in it.
