winning. where did you get those bush/collar/tube thingies that you've used for the shaft pivot welded to the top of the frame there?

is it just conveniently sized tube?

Why not using the Cutlet setup for dumping, a 2mm hole in the piston? Doesn't weight anything, doesn't take up space and is cheap.

Also, it's a steel body ram. Why not using it as part of the fame?
Just weld on the bits you need.

Was refering to the shuttle valve in the base, not the ram itself but its already got a 2mm hole in it Smile cheers.

And one big step foward. Oh look a pirtek!

Uh excuse me sir i bought this hydraulic hose now i dont have any money left? Sad

Just jokin' pirtek was actually really reasonable price wise. Best of all they have -every- connector known to man, festos bsp's npt etcetc. Plus dedicated bottle hose clamps. Freaking win.

Also found some BSP taps after the attempted thievery of the local places. 160 dollars for a 3/8 inch tap, lol no to you fine sir. Gotta pick them up and then i can finish up the ram and get testing!

P.s. sheet metal benders are awesome <3 controller mount done! Will show you how it mounts up later Smile

Not done a huge deal with work and all (curses!) but some token progress. Trying to get at least one job done a day just to keep the ball rolling Smile

Got the tie rods modified and cut down, all looks good! Milled some off the sides of the ram top-cap to accomodate the flipper arm too. The scorpion xxl is mounted in its final position as is the power switch. Got the 12oz bottle too. much smaller and lighter.

Next job is to drill the holes for the valves + tap them, get the steel for the flipper arm and finish that asap + start on the manifold and hopefully my hobbyking batteries come so i can start work on a battery tray. Might just make that from sawblades again lol, or folded aluminium if i find any scrap around.

Might get this thing done after all Razz

Looking good. That ram is CHUNKY looking.

Also I advise running a hose from your vent port to the nostril of a dragon painted on the robot somewhere. Gives extra street cred Wink

It won't be that bad, even with the huge valve area, the connection between buffer and valve will be the bottleneck.

^^ thats the one. Its only 9mm hose, so bleh.

After the event i think i will take out the valve from the ram base and weld a 1 inch bore manifold to the side of the base, and have the valve in there so the flow should then be essentially unlimited and compare the difference.

Just no time for something that drastic this time Smile

you don't want 'unlimited' in my opinion. this would lead to unnecessary stress. there is a point where more flow doesn't yield substantial gains.

No shit jack. My buffertank ram destroyed itself on LP, even if everything was made to FP standards.

Woody did see the results, and amended his writings on his website.
