We still need the arena day though, Jeff works during the week so i'm thinking it needs to be a Saturday or Sunday some time soon. I'm busy 19th but could do 20th or the following weekend. I'll call to check with him once I get peoples preferences. Smile

We need somebody to do a quick visit and make a to-do list, otherwise we will be milling around on the build day and little will get done. I'm OK to do it if we can organise it with Jeff.

From last time we need to:

Attach arena walls
fill floor divots
Clean the polycarb
repair lights

And since then there may be water damage or other unknown problems. I can do any weekend except Feb 2/3rd.

I think the most important thing is to reattach the thick MDF boards to the arena walls. Everything else is just maintenance. Will need to take some drills and long wood screws etc.

Floor divots would be priority #2.

That said, my weekend availability is limited but will see what I can do. Better for me would have been a weeknight after work, but if that doesnt work for Jeff then fair enough.

Absolutely, the walls are #1! From memory, the MDF was mostly held on with wood or sheet metal screws and they don't hold well in the concrete filled floor tiles. I now have a huge hammer drill that will easily punch thru the tiles, so we can use 1/4" bolts to make the walls far more reliable.

I wonder about siliconing the MDF on? might be easier than bolts and be easier to replace. Find out how much MDF we need in what sizes and I'll ask chris via Russell what we can get hold of.
Also keep in mind that the plan was to hit divots with a grinder and fill with builders bog.

Those tiles are too dirty and uneven for gluing IMHO and we would need quite a bit of glue, making it an expensive option - bolts would be cheaper and my new SDS drill will punch thru the tiles in no time.

If Chris can sell us some replacement 25mm MDF, that would be great! Can anyone remember what height the MDF is? I guess they are 400mm as that gives 3 strips from a full sheet. If Chris can cut full length sheets, we can trim them to length on-site.

400 sounds taller than I remember - they looked like 300 or less but I may be completely wrong

After looking at some vintage matches, I agree - 300mm high is more economical as well

Wanna set a date then and Angus can give jeff a bell so we can get it all sorted. I shotgun repairing the floor though, i have much experience with bondo as of this week haha! Curse you previous owner of my bike.

What are we going to do about the lights? I can't even remember how they were. From memory there were a few Fluros and two halogens at the front.

I have two 500W halogens and some other floodlights that can be robo-proofed if needed.

Sounds like a plan! Also need to get an idea about the MDF bumpers.
