I have worked out a plan for beetle. I put my subconscious to work on it. At first it just wanted to work out how to do the ant. Then it worked that out so I finally got it to think about the beetle. Gonna be a Carbine remake!

Twould be handy indeed! *throws rocks at Angus*

Seems like it's all going ahead then. Touch wood - the arena is coming along nicely and the last major part is to get the roof bits off Jake and slap that together quick smart.

So who is bringing what Smile, Just killer from myself. Was hoping to make a 2nd flipper robot but times pretty tight.

Pia posted it on the dorkbot blabber mailing list, several hundred contacts on there... Shocked I think that's how serial space became so huge so should be interesting to see our turn out.

In other news, I've almost finished a mini arena cleaner / ref bot for picking up the shrapnel between rounds. Razz

The build day is all set up, I have the following stuff for the roof:

3x 2400 x 1200 x 9mm Ply sheets - its noticeably stiffer than 7mm and only $7 more per sheet. They will be light enough for one person to carry

42 x 19 mm pine to stiffen the ply panels up. three of these per panel will make for a very sturdy roof.

fast drying construction glue

4 litres of white exterior paint - its probably not enough for two coats but we can always get more.

assorted painting gear.

Is anyone else able to make it to the build day? We will have jobs for everyone: welding, painting sawing, nailing - you name it!
