Sweet. I am still waiting on the new LiPo for Naked Turtle. I have 3 or 4 ants ready to go. Beetle is still non-functional. Prolly won't get time till tomorrow night.

Sidewinder might be out. I broke a pin off one of the IFI cables and its stuck in the socket. I don't have anything small enough to pull it out or the patients right now to finish fixing it. I'll bring it all tomorrow morning and see what happens.
Arena setup in 3x4 was Ok. I think I prefer 4x4 but I have no problems with 3x4 or even 3x4 TBH. I am not sure what would be best if we are going to have a crowd their. 4x4 is a pretty tight fit and we would want people at least 1m off the arena.
I was thinking we could setup arena at the back of hackerspace but that area has sort of disappeared now. The walls seem to be closing in to some extent not sure how we would work out space for nationals event but something to think about.
Draw is becoming too much of a hassle to do manually will try and do up something.
We need a new floor/pit door in the ant arena its becoming a pain to drive over. What does everyone thing about steel floor? And pit to the side, not in the center?
Our feather arena wall panels are looking a bit sad. 3 have cracked poly (was counting as we packed up and they really need a wash. Where they are being stored isn't doing them any favours. Not sure whether we can afford to buy 3 new polycarb sheets atm.
We still need Arena Timers as well, would computer screen with a timer to be mounted inside arena be a good idea? I have a few LCDs which I am not particularly attached too. Worth maybe $50 and if we put a bit of poly over them they would be fine inside the area.
Also contributed my entry fees and done transfer to hackerspace directly from my account. _________________ Steven Martin

Yeah as always, we had a ball!
Like the lcd idea....we could just clone the desktop of the laptop, playing the countdown vid.
4x3 worked well .....though Wanda does need lots of spin room. _________________ Miles Blow - Julie Pitts

We were thinking of putting the screen under the arena at one stage, use it as a part of the floor ;->
Also hit me up on msn or some other form of IM wrt battleputer. _________________ Mechanical engineers build weapons, civil engineers build targets

Another good event. The feathers didn't get stuck on the uneven section of the floor with the 3*4 arena set up. I think there were less robots stuck under the wall also as the wall didn't have so many gaps under it.
Aggressor was reliable at this event. Normally the tactic with a spinner is to drive at it and watch it destroy itself, but Andrew had Aggressor running well all day. It didn't break at all. Aggressor dished out some big hits knocking robots across the arena and up to the roof.
Miles and Jules count down timer was a good thing. They brought a speaker so that you could hear it throughout the entire shed. _________________ So even the rain that falls isn't actually going to fill our dams and our river systems
