Believe me, those motors went CHEAP.

Just a single one of those motors is worth about $250 USD. I didn't want to bid against the guys here or I would have bought them.

And they went for $122.51

If anyone was after a (probably) cheap CRO, one of the hackerspace guys is selling one... http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=190560970652

I don't need anything like that . Laughing

It's like an art gallery i'd bother to go to... Twisted Evil
Scorpion is totally insane, perfect example that good companies are immune to this financial downturn rubbish... They've totally overtaken axi and everyone else in only a few years.

Amongst other things they're developing an open source Switched Reluctance Outrunner design which requires no increasingly costly neo magnets... If they work out it'll be a huge 'f you' to the guy behind the neodymium price fixing. Rolling Eyes

Impressive! The controllers are the sticking point at the moment, I read that Neu never bothered producing their largest inrunners design as there was no controller to power it (at least not an airbourne one) Perhaps we will see some evolution in the ESC area shortly. BTW: is it just me or does that first photo look like a wheel hub motor?

Yes, it is a hub motor. These photos are from Scorpions display at an EV trade show/convention.

Going round the industrial area today practicing for my Ps test and saw some new stuff out there.

http://www.dimitrioufab.com.au/index.php?id=1 - theres a flipping EEEEEEEENORMOUS new Oxy/plasma/laser cutting place opened up. Its just like oxycut. So perhaps they may do similar work Smile

AND outside of laser wizard - anyone want a huge lathe??

They would probably fork it onto something for you, just to get it off their property. Don't know how you would get it off later tho.
