WA Build Meet

Just a note for any WA builders that just lurk.

Windhammer and I will be having a rambot session in about a month. With any luck it'll be held at Curtin Uni. We'll decide the date in a few weeks.

Feel free to turn up and watch/discuss.

Hiya, folks, Andrew here again. I've sort of been bitten by the bug once more, and am thinking of building a lightweight / feather, to throw at any local creations. Are any WA folk still messing around with bots?

oh, I also heard on the grapevine that Uni of WA has a combat robot, but details were sketchy as to the details.

OK this sorta seems like the place to ask...

I'm a total newb to this extreme sport but have a bit of RC plane and buggy experience. I have been sniffing around looking for some WA crew to do this with for a few months and finally I am blessed with the honour of being allowed to join this forum (suck, suck, crawl, grovel)

I'm intersted in catching up with some WA builders for ideas and to see what the most suitable class would be to build in so there are locals to compete against.

Unfortunately I am off on holidays Friday but if anyone is keen mid January I will be about.

sure, phoenix is also heading off and will be back around then, so I will try to find a time which suits the most people mid-late jan.

Someone will have to remind me though, I have a poor memory.

Sure. I get back on the 16th January, and depending on what hideous diseases I've caught on my China jaunt, I should be available for a get together the week after, or thereabouts.

The plan at the moment is to meet at my place, Saturday evening. PM me if you are interested, or email/join the google group - http://groups.google.com.au/group/curtin-robotics as it goes to my email.

Cheers to those who made it, it was a good way to renew interest for some of us. Unfortunately not everyone was able to make it.

Perhaps we might do something similar in about 2 months to see what people have come up with in that time Smile

Special thanks to Mike for bringing us all together.
Was definately a worth while and informative session for us novices. It certainly got the creative juices flowing.

My mig welder has arrived and I have some armour and other stuff lying around....
Hmm maybe an armour plated nitro buggy????

For anyone who was not there we are aiming to get something going in the Featherweight 13kg class at this stage. this way we will all be competing on the same platform.

Start building folks.
Hopefully in a couple of months we will be meeting to battle not just talk.

and the RoboWars Wiki
http://www.robowars.org/wikka/RobowarsWikka1

should get you started on the right track.
