damn that was nuts

i reckon misfortune may take it if all the bugs r worked out

Orbits ready to go with added self rightingness

If i draw some nasties and weopon stops or whatever ill prob just tap straight out, would rather lose and have a full functioning robot with minimal repair then get whooped for sake of a few mins amusement and weeks of repair which will hold me back from starting another design (got parts for at least 2 or 3 robots to build, one is to bring back my old scooter driven vert spinner which could prob get working in a week or two once i get that motor from timmeh).

but yeah anyways itll be there ready to go, will see how it goes

its safe to say misfortune steam rolled everyone today Razz tossed demon out of the arena in about 15 seconds amongst other things and demon smashed up orbit a good bit.

1st misfortune
2nd cobra
3rd slave
4th demon or beelzebot??

was a fun day! videos should be good. if short Laughing

i think everyones going to have to work out how to beat misfortune now. its a little too good i think Cool

Yesh misfortune had it made this event, that damn beater is so low nothing gets under it. Laughing During a match against slave it sent one of the hinges ricocheting into the far corner of the roof.
It's starting to look a little bent however. Wink

Dyro: yeah that was particularly amusing Smile

Great event guys, lots of awesome and fun fights, thanks to Jeff as always for having us!

Here's my photo collection, not 100% comprehensive, but theres alot of aciton here! Thanks to my girl Mel for all the shots that had either Slave or myself in them Smile If anyone wants a high-res photo PM me

Photos - Behind the scenes

Me annoying everyone by using CO2 to cool down some dodgy hot glue application

Beelzebot makes its debut

Jake and Bort's dad Colin inspect the wall of fame

Me testing Slave, with some success Razz

Jeff and Nick talking shop

Beelzebot undergoes some tweaking

Photos - Misfortune vs Beelzebot

Mean and green, Misfortune being readied for combat

How to dissasemble Beelzebot in three easy steps

I pointed out the more amusing parts - dont worry Bort, i did the same for myself later on Smile

Splat, but Bort got right onto the repair work and had it ready for Slave later

Photos - Orbit vs Demon

Orbit spins up

Clang!!!

A compliation of gryo-dancing choreography (sp?)

Clang!!!

Some damage sustained Smile

Photos - Cobra vs Slave

Glen readies Cobra to be driven by (was it angus?)

Slave attempts to look menacing in the red corner

Strategic positioning

A compilation of Slave mostly taking it from behind Razz the you will note, in the middle right photo i did manage to wedge him - suprisingly - but was unable to drive him into anything - unsurprisingly

One wheel on the ground for Cobra and Slave didnt have enough power to drive out from under this situation:P

Photos - Demon vs Misfortune

Unfortunately no photos of demon getting pitched out of the arena by Misfortune Smile

Photos - Slave vs Beelzebot

The Master

The Apprentice - looking unjustifiably pleased with himself for reasons i cant recall Razz

All is in readiness for the Apprentice to attempt to become the Master

BURRRNN

Kaboom!

And then it was all over when Beelzebot suffered mechanical failure

And was slightly on fire Razz Wires were singed

Photos - Misfortune vs Slave

The favourite, Misfortune takes on the surprise finals contender, Slave...

Ti sparks!

And messes him right up Smile this was just after a hinge zinged off into the ceiling

Slave lies beaten in the corner Smile

Aftermath - better than expected really!

Deserving winner, I've said this before but, an impressive robot

Photos - Cobra vs Misfortune FINAL

Cobra does a better job of looking menacing in the red corner

Not so low Cobra can't get under him

And Misfortune takes the event after making Cobra do the upside-down turtle!

all round wasnt too bad

had a fun day

Orbit is done and dusted.

Ive been doing the vertical spinner thing for years now im sorta over it so im gonna focus on new designs

got me hammerdrills and various old frames and box loads of parts which r asking to be turned into a robot so......

am thinking cobra knockoff with lifter for next event, get my old scooter driven vert spinner going again for smashing parts and general amusement factor (wont go in the comp as it would get owned) and i wanna see how a hammerdrill in low gear does belt driving a hammer mech which i can use orbits old frame for also

so yeha Orbits dead and buried if it is to be rebuild will be extremely different but gonna get some other less fiddly and easier/more fun projects going first

Sad to hear the end of Orbit but sounds like you're doing it for the right reasons.

Nice videos guys! Love collecting these after the event Smile
