Hi everyone, im new to the whole robot thing so i decided to make a simple box/push bot. Basically the exact same as
'TORNADO'
but without the spinner.
Im using 2 XU-1's with red wheels and a Sabretooth ESC. I just realised that my model XU-1 is the XCD-140 not the XCD-12 as in the wiki page.
So that, im guessing, is the reason we had to do some cutting and stuff until we got the wheel mounted and looking pretty. The problem is that the motor spins but the wheel takes time to turn, and by touching the wheel it completely stops with the motor still spinning. Is this our fault? Or a different way of making the XU-1s that it designed to annoy me?
Thanks heaps for any help, Collo

hey the clutch isnt locked properly.
you need to take all the little ball bearings out of the front of the gearbox and replace them with at least 4 grub screws.
Have alook at Anderson Robot Wheels in the Market Place thread

Potential issue for anyone running Red wheels on Andrew mod adapters.
They have changed the mold.
Must have finally worn out.
I picked up some new wheels for Rat and noticed several differences.
Smaller diameter tire, 5 spokes on outside instead if 3, inner black bit has shoulder and slightly different dimensions even the color is slightly different.
If you need the old ones best grab some while there still on the shelf. _________________ Satisfaction is proportional to effort and results.
the old ones had a 1/2 inch hole when you take the black bit out my adapters are self broaching for the key ways as long as the hole is 1/2 inch or 13mm dia you can hammer them into any plastic or ali wheel and they cut their own key ways
