Robots on a budget

I've decided to build a robot, but, as i'm a uni student with no job, im kinda broke.
Any tips on how to save some money? Its just going to be a basic wedge.

Raid all your brothers spare parts Razz Check out second hand stores, sometimes you find something useful for real cheap. Ask other builders, occasionally they will have stuff they are happy to give to a good cause, things like drill cells, used gearboxes and motors, maybe even older radios.

Many people have old drills in their shed with dead batteries that they are willing to give away.
