Hah, you got it hey. I'm suprised they we're still available, my mum got one on Thursday and no local stores had any left. They're a pretty good little unit for the price, the only thing I dont like is the lack of a screen latch. The remote's a bit much, but hey, works well with vista media center, so why not.

Why would you bother to switch from Big Evil Monopolistic Software Corporation #1 (Microsoft),
only to move over to Big Evil Overpriced Monopolistic Software and Hardware Corporation (with a slightly better PR image) #2 (Apple) ?

I've just converted my main machine over to Mandriva Linux 2008.

My old XP install is now running locked up inside a VMWare Box where it belongs. Wink

So is OSX, Vista, Myth TV, Kubuntu 7 and any other OS's I feel like checking out.. I can fiddle with them all, without ever having to leave the land of freedom.

VMWare Converter is great. lets you take an existing install and turn it into a VMWare Image.

Thats 3 out of 5 computers now running Linux in my office.

Ubuntu 7.10 @ work

XP is in VMWare to run Solidworks/Rhino 3D/Vegas 7 and I have another hdd for xp for gaming only (Although I'm slowly getting more games running on Ubuntu via wine/CEdega)

Laughing Gotta laugh! Y'all wasting CPU cycles on running the same OSes with a hypervisor. The applications and OS have the same old problems you didn't like in the first place, except now you can switch to another VM and browse the web while the first OS reboots (slower than before!).

The small hit in performance of the VM is better then dual booting and switching OS every few hours, or having to spend 50% of your CPU cycles running programs to keep Windows from getting infected with some new variant of AIDS Razz

I cheat with VMWare Player, I just suspend my XP session when I'm not using it, open it up in around 10 seconds when I need to use solidworks Razz I also find VM machines great for testing downloaded software. install it on the vm, if it crashes it with some trojan or corrupts your system with bodgy cracks, just reload the snap shot Wink

And lastly, my favour, no more booting your computer up to face, "NTLDR is missing" errors Laughing
