dpdt switches

dpdt switches

just a following to my project.

how would i wire a dpdt switch so it reverses polarity?

i only have 2 wires, somehow i have to wire it in series.

Dpdt means double pole double trow.

How to wire it depends on kind of relais. And that I can't know.

Connect power to the two center pins + and _ then connect one wire from the left out side pin to the right opposite side pin then do the same to the last pair of pins so that the two wires cross over each other

Then connect your motor also to one set of out side pins on the cross over..

When you turn the switch one way power will flow from the battery through the switches to the motor when you switch it in the opposite direction power will flow across the crossed wires in the opposite direction reversing the motor.

Also i am assuming that its a center off type switch you might just have to check it with a meter or on the packaging it came with if its different it will need to be wired different but most dpdt switches are center off
