New Arena
The new arena is ready to go.
As of last builders meet the first date is Sat 22 of Sept, starting around 12pm.
as I mentioned at the meet if anyone wants to stay on the Friday and/or Saturday your more than welcome. we will have a BYO B.B.Q around 1pm, and for dinner I'm thinking of hiring a spit roast rotisserie.
I could use a hand to set up in the morning if there are any volunteers.
there will be a robot soccer match open for all no weight restrictions for this one.
The address is
24 Fore Shore rd
Jam Jerrup

I`m sorry to say, what with my interstate visit record I doubt that I would make it down for this one.
One day, when I have El Bravo Machina II built and have some money again I WILL do some travelling.
I do have huge guilt issues about so many that have come to my place and I am so slack!
Suredley, this will only be the first of many events for the new arena and for now I will be keenly watching out for how it all goes.
I am surprised there hasn`t been a huge burst of excitement already about a brand new Vic. venue!

Next time,
The plan is to have an event every few weeks eventually. not just Robot Combat, but things like search and rescue and games like soccer. but thats something we will have to build up to.
I think the guys are exited about the new arena, (I hope they are). This has been a while coming, most of the builders in Vic knew there was new arena planed as far back as the Brisbane event last year, and I do carry on about it every event we have.
Haven't done the photos yet. I want to get some with it fully set up.

Whereabouts is it Daniel? Public venue or private? If it is at a residence like ours, I prefer just the suburb is advertised so interested parties need to contact a member so we can suss them out a little bit.
If you would like to PM me the address, I can look it up for future events.
Cheers,
Jeff.

I have organised a big Spit Roast for lunch on the saturday.
If everyone could bring a little somthing (plate of food or a bottle of coke ect..) that would be great.
The piro-technition is booked in for the day and will be bringing a big bag of bang bang.
Also if anyone has a spare radio and/or speed controller, I need one for Reffbot. just somthing low amp,( it only drags about 10 amp's). _________________ Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world; indeed, it's the only thing that ever has.

Hey all,
I have posted a few photos of the new arena for you to check out
I still need to fix off the polycarb and get a couple of new barriers for the edging.
Feel free to leave feed back, positive or negative, if there is anything you think needs doing or something I have overlooked.
I am stuck on a few things, the main one is how to secure the polycarb. I have a way of fixing it off for the event but I will need a better way than what I have.
The other is the ceiling. What to use and how to secure it.
Thanks for your input. _________________ Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world; indeed, it's the only thing that ever has.

keep in mind polycarb isn't too keen on UV as a rule. _________________ Mechanical engineers build weapons, civil engineers build targets

Thanks guys
The entire arena is transportable and may be set up or dismantled within 4 hours if you have two people, more people, less time.
The idea is to hold a major part of the events indoors, school halls, basket ball courts and the like.
I believe we are ready to go public. _________________ Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world; indeed, it's the only thing that ever has.
