If the arena costs are looking scary, You could try running a lightweight - no spinner class outdoors in an anrea like that..
I'd probably still hang a thin sheet of plastic of some sort though.. even a good solid ram or a belt from a thwack bot can send chunks flying, just not with the same energy a high power spinner will.
You would seriously reduce your possible competing robots field though.. _________________ Great minds discuss ideas. Average minds discuss events. Small minds discuss people

In a jolt Vs Kang fight once it was "raining" aluminium on the front screen, as jolt scraped chunks off and sprayed them onto the screen.
It was nasty, not much bigger than 5 cent piece but with loads of sharp edges. _________________ Mechanical engineers build weapons, civil engineers build targets
I recieved an Email from the organisers of the supercross masters (same people that do the monster trucks) and they seemed very interested in the concept.
but as I thought they arn't really interested in putting in anything towards the arena nor did they seem to interested in public liability insurance eather. . .withch is suprising seeing what they do
but they did talk about having some robots on display maybe. . .witch means i should probably get my arse into gear on X48
he said to keep in contact tho to see what happens
