I suspect I enjoyed that match a little more than Angus. It's a real shame we don't have the part where Jolt did a handstand on the front wedge - I still have no idea how it recovered!

My tables said you did.
I haven't posted anything yet as my new computer buggered up and I lost all the tables. I was going to redo them on Saturday.

As I understand it, we only fought a part-roundrobin event. To make up for not every bot fighting every other bot, every fight was judged (even if it was a knock-out) and the scores were averaged for each bot. From Jake's tables, Cobra won with 24.60, Roadkill placed second with 24.22 and Jolt came third with 22.5.

This scoring didn't really work out well, as Orbit got 0.00 for beating Cobra twice by KO in ten minutes. It also didn't work out on some more subtle levels due to the small pool of bots. It's over & done with and the results have to stick, however I feel the full roundrobin event we had before worked out better.

I think we still work on 6 points for first place, 4 points for second, 2 points for third and one point for attending? Cobra draws even further ahead Rolling Eyes

I just finished a best hits complation video for the marayong series in general, i'm uploading it now. Got some of the bigger hits I could find rummaging through the videos and some of the older fights that'll bring back memories when you see them Laughing Laughing Laughing
Mind you Ulead managed to crash my computer a grand total of 23 times during the process of making it... Rolling Eyes
Here it is: http://angus.botclips.net/marayong%20complation.wmv

LOL damn forgot about that! Laughing
Someone else is more than welcome to try on a computer that doesn't freeze up every second time you do an edit! Laughing
There's sooo many good things though... if all were included it'd go on for hours! Very Happy Man I love this sport. Wink
EDIT: also the end may seem a bit painfull to watch but it's in order to try to understand exactly what happened in those few destructive seconds of that melay Laughing Although it's out of frame you can definately hear the saw blade getting smacked off, ricochet and then bounce of the ground... Kewl Twisted Evil

the origional "partial round robin" preposal had stuff in it for how to deal with the situation of unjudgable wins and such like.

but really you have to go in more than one fight to get any kind of sensible answer.
Really to do it propperly all fights should be "enacted" with you loosing 10-0 unless you actually contest it, or forfit. Like any system it needs some dicipline, otherwise its going to suck. (how would a double elimination go if you chose only to enter into 1 or 2 fights?)

http://www.robowars.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=812

so there are points for entering, points for forefiting (prior to a match) and penalties for not entering. The question is what points are fair for what?
we have some "baseline" data now any suggestions?
