Futaba 4ch radios are easily "hacked" with an on/off switch on a 5th ch, other radios I'm not to certain about other types. Its a simple soldering of 2 wires to the board inside the radio and connecting a suitable switch but you will require a new 5ch receiver. I've seen it done for rc planes to opperate retracting landing gear. I'll look up some refference material and post the links for you.

Hmm, that would be interesting for me too, as i've got the futaba 4ch skysport, and a 6ch reciever, a 5th weapon switch would be dandy! Very Happy
If anyone could do it without wrecking my radio, i'd be very interested!

ok firstr off if u have a 4 channel and is using all channels for drive then go buy a mixer and use second stick for weopons.

thats what i have on orbit basicallym right stick drives, left operates weopon and one other is failsafe/on-off switch.

Its yall's choice but id rather do that than have someone soldering and fiddling with my radio.

Eeey this old thread! Very Happy Didn't want to start a new one.
I took apart my skysport this arvo to do a little mod to it (to be revealed at our next event ! Laughing ) and took time to notice that there's not one, but two pot *imputs* unused on the circuit board. Although it may be that they use the same circuit board for two radios, I do remember that Andrew has an older 6 channel skysport... I'm not really going to bother with it now, but just to bring the oppertunity to peoples attention. Smile
Here's a pic of the radio pcb sans cover:

And a close up of the areas the pots connect to, notice the W (white) R (red) and B (black) coding on the pcb...hmm...

Very Happy Enjoy, one things for sure... the skysport is one hackable radio! It even had mounts for my 5th switch XD!!!
