an electromagnet will however attract one pole of another magnet and repell the other. up untill the electromagnet has more strength than the magnet in question and overpowers the repulsive force.

that is the point i was trying to make

it was a joke

yes an electromagnet will attract the opposite pole of another magnet or electromagnet and repel the like pole but unless all competitors use magnets (electric or otherwise) you would be relying on the metal of your competitors frame or armour as the means of attraction hence a steel bot would only be attracted to the magnet no matter the polarity, an aluminium bot would be repelled by a pulsed or oscillating (changing) magnetic field but would be unaffected by a fixed magnetic field.
I got your joke about weedling out of a loss with claims of interference but your other statements were worded as statemnts not jokes!

bounce a graviton particle beam off the main deflector dish thats the way we do things lad we're making "stuff" up as we wish.
